EN/X VIDEOS: Sports, fitness & adventure for kids and families
I took my Energy Express column ideas about healthy living to the small screen with great success, creating the EN/X TV series in partnership with David Houle. Energy Express was --and thanks to the Internet, still is --an innovative and exciting sports, fitness and adventure reality series for kids and families.
EN/X began as a weekly show on the WGN -TV SUPERSTATION in Chicago, After a few months it was syndicated nationally to 120 cities. By the time it ran its groundbreaking course on the networks it was honored with two Emmys, the IRIS award for best kids’ series from NATPE -- the National Association of TV Programming Executives -- and a Women’s Sports Foundation award for outstanding TV journalism.
EN/X lives today, online, in 2-4 minute webisodes lifted from the original series.
Here’s why I’m so proud of it, and all the people along the way who’ve worked so hard to make it happen:
- EN/X first-person stories inspire girls and boys to be bold and brave, active and strong physically and mentally.
- EN/X encourages kids to tell their own stories about sports victories and failures, triumphs and terrors -- tales of resiliency, courage, discipline and teamwork.
- EN/X motivates kids to set goals, do their best, and take good care of the body & mind they've been given.
- EN/X videos explore a wide range of sports and challenges including motocross, judo, sailing, inline skating, basketball, soccer, wall climbing, fencing, golf, skydiving and more.
Here's what EN/X does not do. We don't preach to kids. We don't judge. We don't talk down to them. We encourage and celebrate them. Kids are our heroes.
